[Tutorial] LuaEngine Development Tutorial (1) - Installation Chapter

LuaEngine is a Lua scripting engine for Monster Hunter World, which allows you to automate the control of game data through writing Lua scripts. To use LuaEngine, you need to install Stracker's Loader first, which is a tool for loading game plugins.

The following are the installation steps of LuaEngine:

  1. Download the latest version of LuaEngine and decompress it to the game root directory.
  2. (Optional) Download the LuaEngineUI and decompress it to the game root directory.
  3. (Optional) If you use LuaEngineUI, you need to switch the game to DX12 mode to run it.
  4. Open the game root directory and go to the Lua file folder. You can put your own Lua scripts here or use existing ones. LuaEngine provides a sample script that you can find in the optional file’s data window.

After installing LuaEngine, you can launch the game. If everything is normal, you can enter the map after sending luac: Message(‘test’) in chat and receive test as a reply.

This is an introduction to LuaEngine. I hope this helps you. If you want to learn more about how to use LuaEngine and how to write programming tutorials, please refer to the official documentation or GitHub repository. Have fun playing!
