If you ask PayPal for a refund of CaiMoGu GOLD, PayPal will give you an immediate refund because CaiMoGu has broken two major rules.

After the mod author 太保健 raised his asking price for the GOLD Reward from 4 to 10 for a mod, I am going to give a shout out to all mod authors here to explain why the problem with PayPal at the moment is legitimate from my point of view. What they did is bad for CaiMoGu and all mod authors on CaiMogu.

If you purchase an item via PayPal and do not receive it, you are entitled to a refund. This applies to CaiMoGu if you pay GOLD with the intention of downloading a mod for GOLD Rewards, but you are unable to download the item, e.g. because there is only a Baidu download link.

It would be fine if the mod seller - in this case the mod author - made this clear. But if it is not made clear, you cannot download it and the mod author does not offer any support, you are entitled to a refund. I recommend this if management is not helping you with the author.

Deception. If it is not made clear that you do not need to spend GOLD Rewards to download something, you are eligible for a refund. PayPal does not allow people to be misled when purchasing digital content. If it is not made clear that you can download items by other means, and those other means are free, then PayPal will assume that you have been deceived.

In such cases, the seller must refund your money and cancel any contract as invalid. If this does not happen and the management does not help you, I recommend that you ask PayPal for a refund.

The lack of explanation and transparency makes the use of GOLD on CaiMoGu.org very bad. Mod authors who betray the trust of users, as happened here, are the main reason why CaiMoGu is considered a "scam site" by Regional Watch.

There is also very bad external behaviour, such as that of Nanfeng, who did not do any damage control on Nexus when he was approached about CaiMoGu. Because of their bad reputation, CaiMoGu mods are constantly being banned from Nexus mods.

It is not good that the "commission fee" is also so high, with mod authors only getting 60% and no easy payout. The difference in the commission rate and the low quality of the website compared to CaiMoGu.cc is like nails in a coffin.

The site owner can fix the problems very quickly, and about a week ago I submitted important information to prevent and fix the problem with PayPal. I do not know what they are doing with this information, but for now you can just wait patiently. I do not recommend buying GOLD until the issues are fully resolved.

Please reconsider your actions that lead to the very bad reputation of CaiMoGu. Not all mod authors are bad. I will continue to support the good ones. I recommend every mod author to provide alternative ways to support them on their profile.

If you make it like 太保健 I do not care, with them selling CaiMoGu mods on discord / patreon.

But if you charge unfairly on CaiMoGu and sell it cheaper elsewhere with better support and so on, it makes CaiMoGu look really bad.

You can do better with more success than upsetting customers and supporters.

The problems can be fixed very quickly. So maybe it is worth giving CaiMoGu a chance to recover. But the bad behaviour of some mod authors has to stop immediately.

Otherwise PayPal will continue to make CaiMoGu unusable for supporting mod authors. And then less authors will come here and less authors => less mods => less visitors.

As I wrote before: I like CaiMoGu for different reasons. But if the authors are bad, I will not use this site anymore.
